Color Bears Storytime with Judy Palaferro at Mini Max Toys and Cuts
Mini Max welcomes author, illustrator and our local Brooklyn neighbor and friend, Judy Palaferro, for a June Storytime residency. Judy read from her Color Bears, a colorful and vibrant bear-filled board book for toddlers. Mini Max Wins the Atlantic Avenue Holiday Window People’s Choice Award
The people voted and Mini Max won! Every month Mini Max creates a new magical scene for the display window and once per year the people get to exercise their right to vote. Those people must have loved the wintery scene starring Snowmax and Mini Max Mini Kids Seamus and Lola. Besides bragging rights, The Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation awarded Mini Max with a delicious gift basket, courtesy of our neighbors at Sahadi’s. The Scrapkins Host Two Very Special Recycled Arts and Crafts Days
Artist Brian Yanish brings his Scrapkins to Mini Max on two consecutive Saturdays. Children learned how to “Recycle, Re-Imagine and Re-Create,” The Scrapkins mantra of making beautiful things out of otherwise discardable materials. Internationally Renown Artist and Author Alex Beard Reads from The Jungle Grapevine and Paints Mural
Alex Beard takes time from his busy promotional schedule to read from his recently published children’s book The Jungle Grapevine (Abrams Books). After entertaining the kids (and the staff!), Alex painted a beautiful mural featuring many of the colorful animals from The Jungle Grapevine.
